Petrolia, ON – July 14, 2025 – Lambton County Developmental Services (LCDS) is proud to share that our Executive Director, Nick Salaris, has been awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal—a national honour recognizing exceptional service and contributions to Canada and its communities.
Nick was one of seven recipients from the Sarnia-Lambton region recognized at a special ceremony hosted by MPP Bob Bailey at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club. The King Charles III Coronation Medal, created by the Government of Canada to mark His Majesty’s coronation in 2023, celebrates individuals who have made a meaningful impact through leadership, service, and dedication.
Nick’s journey with LCDS began 35 years ago as a 1:1 support worker. Over the decades, he has held many roles—Special Services, Home Worker, Support Worker, Supervisor, Manager, Director—and since 2018, has led the organization as Executive Director. His deep commitment to inclusion, innovation, and community-building has shaped LCDS into the vibrant, values-driven organization it is today.
Beyond his work with LCDS, Nick is a passionate community advocate. He has volunteered with Petrolia Minor Soccer and Petrolia Minor Hockey, serves on the Central Lambton Physician Recruitment Committee, and co-hosts an annual charity golf tournament in memory of his mother, supporting local families in need.
We are incredibly proud of Nick and grateful for his unwavering dedication to the people and communities we serve. This honour reflects his leadership, compassion, and the positive change he inspires every day within the LCDS community.
Congratulations, Nick!
