PETROLIA, ON- August 18, 2025 – At LCDS, we believe that every person deserves to live with dignity, respect, and autonomy. Our Rights Review Committee plays a vital role in ensuring that the human, civil, and legal rights of people supported by LCDS are upheld and protected.

We’re currently seeking 1–2 volunteers with expertise in healthcare or legal fields to join this important committee.

What does the Rights Review Committee do?

  • Reviews all real and perceived rights restrictions
  • Ensures restrictions are ethical and legally sound
  • Advises leadership on rights-related issues
  • Supports the LCDS community in regaining and maintaining their rights
  • Reviews Behaviour Support Plans to ensure the least restrictive methods are used
  • Stays informed on trends and issues related to rights

Commitment:

  • Meets six times per year
  • Evening meetings from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Day TBD.

This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to continuous quality improvement and advocate for those whose voices need to be heard.
