LCDS is seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to join our Foundation Board of Directors. As a board member, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our mission to empower people with developmental disabilities to live full, meaningful lives.

We’re looking for individuals who bring:

• Commitment to the LCDS Mission: A genuine passion for inclusion and advocacy for people with developmental disabilities.

• Leadership & Strategic Thinking: Experience in governance or leadership roles and the ability to contribute to long-term planning.

• Diverse Expertise: Skills in finance, fundraising, marketing, healthcare, education, or nonprofit work, and a diversity of backgrounds and lived experiences.

• Fundraising Ability: A willingness to support fundraising efforts and leverage personal and professional networks.

• Collaborative Spirit: Team players who respect differing opinions and contribute constructively.

• Integrity & Accountability: High ethical standards and a commitment to fiduciary responsibilities.

• Time & Availability: Capacity to attend meetings (four times a year) and engage in LCDS events.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Providing governance and oversight
• Supporting fundraising and donor engagement
• Advocating for LCDS in the community
• Advising on and participating in charitable events
• Ensuring effective leadership and mission alignment
• Reviewing and approving policies and initiatives.
