Standing Together for Pink Shirt Day in Lambton County

Lambton County, ON.  February 26, 2026 – Lambton County Developmental Services (LCDS), in partnership with the Safer and Vital Communities initiative and the John Howard Society of Sarnia-Lambton, is proud to join students, educators, and community members across the region in recognizing Pink Shirt Day on February 26, 2026.

As part of this year’s efforts, representatives from LCDS and John Howard Society will be visiting high schools throughout Lambton County, including:

  • Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational Institute in Petrolia
  • North Lambton Secondary School in Forest
  • Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School in Sarnia
  • Great Lakes Secondary School in Sarnia

During these visits, students will receive pink shirts and resources designed to support anti-bullying, anti-hate, and inclusive practices within their schools and communities.

In addition to the high school outreach, every LCDS employee and every person supported by LCDS also received a pink shirt, which was organized by LCDS’s Wellness Committee.

“Pink Shirt Day is about more than wearing pink. It’s a commitment to creating safer, more inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued,” said Nick Salaris, LCDS Executive Director. “Our community partners play a vital role in ensuring that message reaches young people across Lambton County.”

Pink Shirt Day, celebrated internationally, began as a grassroots response to bullying and has evolved into a powerful movement for kindness, belonging, and respect. This year’s theme encourages everyone to Wear Pink. Take a Stand. Choose Inclusion.

LCDS and its partners invite all community members to join the movement by wearing pink and helping spread the message that Lambton County is united against bullying, hate, and discrimination.
