LCDS Joins Community Living Ontario as a Member Organization

PETROLIA, May 1, 2026 – LCDS is pleased to announce that we are now a member of Community Living Ontario, joining a provincial network of more than 125 independently operated agencies that share a deep commitment to advocacy for, and support of, people with developmental disabilities and their families across Ontario.

This announcement comes during Community Living Month, a time dedicated to celebrating inclusion, belonging, and the vital contributions people with developmental disabilities make to their communities.

What Membership Means

Becoming a member and partner organization of Community Living Ontario means LCDS is formally part of a collective movement grounded in advocacy, inclusion, and community support. This membership reflects shared values and a shared responsibility to work together to remove barriers, strengthen communities, and promote inclusion across the province.

As a member, LCDS:

  • Aligns with a province‑wide movement advocating for rights, inclusion, and belonging

  • Joins a trusted network of community‑based organizations learning from and supporting one another

  • Contributes local experience and perspective to provincial advocacy and policy discussions

  • Participates in governance through voting and engagement at the association level

  • Gains access to the Member Resource Hub, supporting ongoing learning and collaboration

By joining this network, we are reinforcing our commitment to ensuring that people supported by LCDS are respected, empowered, and included, not only within Lambton County, but within the broader systems and conversations that shape their lives.

Reflecting Who We Are

Most importantly, this step reflects who we are as an organization. Supporting people of all abilities to live meaningful, inclusive lives as valued members of their communities, one person at a time.
