The Alvinston Pro Rodeo team stopped by our Alvinston residences this week to present their generous $4,000 donation alongside Rosie, Brian, and Ernest, helping bring our new safety patio to life.

LCDS Celebrates Reaching Fundraising Goal for New Alvinston Patio

PETROLIA & ALVINSTON, ON – January 22, 2026 — Lambton County Developmental Services (LCDS) is celebrating a huge community win! Thanks to an incredible wave of local support, we’ve officially reached our fundraising goal for the new cushioned safety patio between our Lovell Street homes in Alvinston.

A major boost came from the Alvinston Pro Rodeo, whose $4,000 donation helped propel the campaign across the finish line. Their support means the world to us and to the people we serve with developmental disabilities.

Our campaign began with a fantastic kickoff from SofSURFACES, the Petrolia company that not only builds safe, durable surfaces but also shows up for their community in meaningful ways.

“We’re so grateful for the support we’ve received,” said Nick Salaris, Executive Director of LCDS. “Our mission is to empower people with developmental disabilities in Lambton County, and this project is a perfect example of what empowerment looks like, creating safe, welcoming spaces where people can enjoy the outdoors with confidence. Every donation helped make this a reality.”

With the funds raised, we’re excited to replace the current cement area with a soft, slip‑resistant surface that will reduce fall risks and give our residents more freedom to enjoy fresh air, connection, and outdoor time. Installation is set to begin this spring, and we can’t wait for Rosie, Brian, and Ernest to enjoy the new space as soon as the weather warms up.

To everyone who donated, shared our campaign, or cheered us on, thank you. This success belongs to all of us. Our community came together, and together, we made something wonderful happen.
