Jeans for Justice, and The Centre

On April 30, LCDS joined The Centre for Denim Day — the Jeans for Justice initiative — wearing denim to raise awareness and challenge the myths that contribute to stigma surrounding sexual violence.

For 24 years, Denim Day has been observed each April as a symbol of protest against harmful myths and misconceptions about sexual assault. The movement began after an Italian court overturned a rape conviction because the survivor was wearing tight jeans, a ruling that sparked international outrage and a call for change. Wearing denim on this day encourages communities, leaders, and organizations to take a visible stand in support of survivors and promote accurate understanding through education and awareness.
