Tony: Watford’s Everyday Hero

In the small town of Watford, there’s a guy named Tony who just about everyone knows — and for good reason. He’s the kind of person who makes a community feel like home.

Tony works part-time at Forest Agri Services and three mornings a week, always on time, always ready to help. After his shift, he sticks around for lunch with his coworkers, sharing laughs and stories like old friends do.

But Tony’s not just about work, he’s everywhere. Every year, he volunteers at the Watford/Alvinston road race, cheering people on and helping out however he can. He also joins weekly programs in Strathroy and Petrolia, where he connects with others and keeps busy.

Tuesdays are for Tim Hortons. That’s when Tony meets up with friends for coffee and a good chat. He also walks to the YMCA to stay active, and every Friday night, you’ll find him at the Watford Legion for the meat raffle, one of his favorite weekly traditions.

Tony lives on his own and takes great care of his apartment. He mows the lawn, does his banking, and even helps neighbours with yard work. He visits his mom who just lives behind him, a few times a week, just to check in and say “hi.”

One of the coolest things about Tony? He’s got a workshop in his backyard where he builds birdhouses. Some of them were auctioned off at the LCDS Valentine Auction and raised over $600!

He’s also part of the Watford Optimist Club and helps clean up the town during the warmer months. He makes sure the team has everything they need.

Summer nights are often spent under the gazebo or around a campfire with his housemates and neighbours, just enjoying the moment.

Tony is a true inspiration to all! Let’s hear it for Tony!
